Significant Risk Project
It sounds like you are going to be doing a Significant Risk Project. This means it involves conditions where the risks of harm are greater or more likely than those encountered in everyday life. You must contact WMSF for approval before beginning work on a Significant Risk Project. Please also read the WMSF Policy Participations of Humans in Research - Significant Risk.

Before you begin work on a Significant Risk Project, here are the things you need to know:
-
You must submit Research Plan to WMSF before beginning project, and must receive approval before starting the project
-
Your project must have an Adult Supervisor who must sign Form PHSR - Certificate of Compliance

-
Participants (or their parents/guardians if they are under 18) must be provided with a Letter of Information before they participate
-
Participants must sign Permission Form before they participate

Additional requirements for Exercise Significant Risk Projects:

-
Your Scientific Supervisor should have a degree in medicine, or with training in exercise such as degree in kinesiology, etc.

Additional requirements for Drug, Invasive Procedures and Bodily Tissues, or Ingestion Significant Risk Projects:

Your experiment must be carried out in a Hospital, University, Medical or other similar Laboratory under the direction of your Scientific Supervisor. The experiment must be approved by the appropriate Scientific Review/Ethics Committee that reviews the research at that Institution, and this must be documented in a letter that is attached to your entry form for WMSF.
