Volunteer at the WMSF!
Each year the Western Manitoba Science Fair would not happen without our volunteers. We need people in all sorts of various roles helping us out in order for the fair to run smoothly! Whether you're a member of the community, a sponsor, or a teacher with a class of students who could use a good volunteer experience, we can use your help! We provide official volunteer thank you letters after the fair. Check out the WMSF volunteer opportunities below for more info!
Group Leader
Details: This job is one of the most fun...you get to accompany students on various science adventures at the university! You will be partnered with another volunteer to be Group Leaders for one of several groups visiting the science building at the university. Or, sign up with a friend and we'll put you together!

Time Commitment: 1:30 PM to 4:15 PM on Tuesday April 8th.

Skills Needed: Must be comfortable taking attendance and keeping track of a group of 20-30 grade 7-12 students. General familiarity with the Brandon University science building is beneficial. We provide all materials needed.

Check-in Attendant
Details: This job is fun because you get to see how excited science fair participants and their parents are when they arrive to set up their projects! When WMSF participants arrive, they check in with us to find out where they go to set up their project. They have the option of doing this the evening before the fair, or fair day morning. Check in consists of asking the student what their name is and finding them on a list. You then give them their project number which shows them which table to go set their project up at.

Skills Needed: Must be comfortable asking students their name, finding it on a master list, and explaining how to find their project.
